We all experience some form of anxiety in our day-to-day lives, but what do we really know about it? Anxiety Disorders are amongst the most commonly diagnosed by GPs but anxiety is also a feature of milder day to day worries. This workshop aims to increase our understanding of Anxiety by addressing the question, why do we feel anxious? We will look at how anxiety manifests in the body and in the mind and at ways to keep anxiety in check. There will be an opportunity to share your experiences but this is not essential.

This five week course will enable you to reflect on your strategies and coping mechanisms and will introduce new ways of responding to stress. From exploring the positive effects of keeping a gratitude journal, to creating your own eye pillow, to practising self-guided relaxation techniques, as well as making your own blend of herbal teas; this course will promote a calm and focused approach to managing stress. At the end of each session, you will take home a practical tool, whether this be something you've created or received, which you will be able to use in daily life.
